Thanks. By the way, does the Hortonworks/Lucidworks connector I'm using expose a full Fusion front end? If not, do you know of any tutorial for adding Fusion on after the fact?

I'd like to make sure I'm up-to-date with some Hortonworks-provided "add-ons" for the HDP. I have built a HDP 2.5 (EDW/ETL) environment, starting with the Data Cloud, following these directions: http://hortonworks.github.io/hdp-aws/launch/ Then I added Solr, following these notes, plus some minor modifications that I could elaborate on later: http://hortonworks.com/hadoop-tutorial/searching-data-solr/ That installs Solr 5.2.1, from 2015-06-14. Is a Hortonworks/Lucidworks Solr package from the 6.x branch available yet? Then I added HDF, mostly following https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/44060/quickly-adding-hdf-to-hdp-25-sandbox.html Because I couldn't view output in the provenance viewer, I migrated to HDF-2.0.1. I'm happy with HDF now, but does this HDF migration path sound OK: Stop NiFi server process Repeat same HDF installation, using http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com.s3.amazonaws.com/HDF/centos7/2.x/updates/2.0.1.0/HDF-2.0.1.0-centos7-tars-tarball.tar.gz Update java packages to 1.8 with yum Use alternatives to point to java 1.8 Restart NiFi... nothing came up when I opened a new browser tab, so I (gasp) rebooted

Great. That worked. No need to apologize when you're offering something nice for free.

I have used the Hortonworks sandbox and am really excited to try the Data Cloud for building a larger cluster.
What's the status of the http://s3.amazonaws.com/dev.hortonworks.com/HDP/centos6/2.x/BUILDS/2.5.0.1-31/repodata/repomd.xml error raised by @Gerrit Slot ? I don't understand the thanks/"solved it" message to @Dominika B (no offense, Dominika!) I followed the steps at http://hortonworks.github.io/hdp-aws/ just now (Nov. 2nd) and got a very similar error:
Ambari cluster could not be created. Reason: Cannot use the specified
Ambari stack: HDPRepo{stack='null'; utils='null'}. Error:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Could not access base url .
http://s3.amazonaws.com/dev.hortonworks.com/HDP/centos6/2.x/BUILDS/2.4.10.0-80
. Server returned HTTP response code: 403 for URL:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/dev.hortonworks.com/HDP/centos6/2.x/BUILDS/2.4.10.0-80
I haven't stopped the partial cluster, so I can try suggestions or provide additional logs.
thanks,
Mark
