The --purge flag when installing the HDF mpack will purge the HDP stack definition.

HDF management pack is supported only as a standalone install (i.e. it is not supported for installing on an Ambari instance with a deployed HDP cluster). Ambari does not support deploying multiple clusters.

Thanks @Ali Gouta 🙂 I had to debug the kafka-python issue in the past.

@Ali Gouta What is the HDP stack version you are using? You don't need to create Kafka broker ids. Ambari creates broker_id if you are on HDP-2.2 Starting in HDP 2.3, Kafka handles the generation of broker.id Also is the pid in /var/run/kafka/kafka.pid the same as the kafka process that is running? Do you have kafka-python package installed? If you have you will need to uninstall the kafka-python package.

If you click on "Installed" you should see an option to "Refresh Configs". Can you check if clicking on it addresses your issue?

@Anandha L Ranganathan 1) You can follow the same Ambari upgrade guide 2) There is a pre-requisite check for Hive Dynamic Discovery that will block upgrades if this config property is required. Specifically HDP-2.2.x -> HDP-2.2.y upgrades will only WARN if this config property is not set, however HDP-2.2.x -> HDP-2.3.y+ upgrades will be blocked as this pre-req will FAIL. FYI, the pre-req checks are fairly verbose on what steps to follow just incase you missed on some of these preconditions documented in the upgrade guide.

You are running into AMBARI-14431. This should happen on the latest. Can you use the latest or update your script manually?

I believe, the failure seems to be caused while setting "upgrade_package" column for existing entries in the upgrade DB because there is no repo_version DB entry that matches with the from_version entry for a DOWNGRADE entry in the upgrade table. However, I do believe the upgrade DB table should exist as it also existed in 2.1.2.1 and we dont delete the table. You can check your DB dump before the upgrade to verify if the table existed
