Cloudera Standard on Oracle Enterprise Linux(OEL) 6.0

Can I install Cloudera Standard on Oracle Enterprise Linux(OEL) 6.0? All my cluster nodes are of OEL. The Cloudera Manager documentation says that it currently supports Redhat, Debian, Ubuntu and SUSE. Does this mean it wouldn't work on OEL?

Yes, you can install on OEL 6.0. Your nodes will retrieve and use the -el6 packages for the installation. Other direct/close relatives such as CentOS and Scientific Linux should also function fine with the same packages.

Do I need to have Gnome desktop (GUI) for running the installer?

Thanks

The cloudera-manager-installer.bin uses an ncurses / text-based menu if invoked from the commandline, though if you do have gnome or similar it will display properly as well.
