HDF /usr/bin/conf-select conflict

avatar

Hi,

there is a problem installing NIFI on redhat with HDP2.5 already in place:

file /usr/bin/conf-select from install of hdf-select-2.0.0.0-579.el6.noarch conflicts with file from package hdp-select-2.5.0.0-1245.el6.noarch

How can we fix this?

Thank you!

@Daniel Scheiner

It is not recommend nor supported to have NiFi co-existing on the same infrastructure with HDP2.5, especially using the same Ambari instance. There are ways to install it on the same infrastructure, but not using the Ambari instance for HDP 2.5.

@Daniel Scheiner To add to the point, I believe that in the future HDP and HDF will be able to use the same Ambari host, but it is not possible currently as Constantin said. This blog post says, "Currently, nodes can not be shared between HDP and HDF. Completely separate clusters (each with its own Ambari and Ranger) are required at this point."
