Installing ElasticSearch on HDP

You could try the Ambari service for ES too:

I believe it should work for 2.3 as well (dropping the ELASTICSEARCH dir into 2.3 resources die). @smishra@hortonworks.com has it been tested?

I would stick with this - Elasticsearch 1.7.2 and for rest of the pieces , you can follow the blog.
