Upgrade from HDP 2.1 to 2.4.2

Hi all,

I am trying to upgrade from HDP 2.1(ambari 1.6) to 2.4.2(ambari 2.2.2.0) ... I see that in the instructions it says i have to contact hortonworks support for this:

Minor HDP 2.1 HDP 2.2 or 2.4 Contact Hortonworks Support for information on performing a HDP 2.1 to HDP 2.2 or 2.4 upgrade.

Does anybody have instructions or should i just contact the support?

@pj there is no separate instructions on upgrade. you can follow Ambari/HDP upgrade documentation on that.

Most likely upgrade path would be like,

1. Upgrade Ambari 1.6 to 2.0.2

2. Upgrade Ambari 2.0.2 to 2.2.1

3. Upgrade HDP 2.1 to 2.4.2

4. then Ambari 2.2.1 to 2.2.2
