What node(s) should Slider be installed on for use by Hbase for HDP 2.2.8?

The location of Slider client is immaterial. Slider client just gets used to submit the Yarn App running HBase. All it needs is access to the HBase App package.

Slider and HBase requires special attention.

Slider can be installed in any of the master but when you configure HBase to run on slider then you have to pay attention to memory and other parameters.

Slider is a client lib and will be installed as part of client set in Ambari. Whether you choose to install it on a master node, is secondary, but typically you will see Slider (and clients) on the edge nodes.
