converting mainframe packed decimal Amount fields for Hive

Hi,

We have mainframe files being FTP'ed to HDFS and needs to be loaded into Hive.

The FTP'ed files have many columns in packed decimal (comp-3)

Is there any build in function to convert the gibberish values to Hive float or string?
