i want to created roll based access to various users in my hdp cluster which is 2.1.5 version but i could't see knox ..is compactble with 2.1.5?

knox is compactble with 2.1.5 , you can follow this doc. for installing knox with hdp2.1.5

ok..by default knox come with HDP2.1 ..or should we install it ?

packages will be there by default with HDP2.1 and then you will have to install them ,

if your hdp is ambari installed the follow:
