Cloudera id not able to create a directory or access certain directories.

IN the latest Quickstart VM I logged on to HUE using cloudera id. In the file browser when I try to create a directory I get the message

'you are a Hue admin but not a HDFS superuser '. So, how can I fix this?  Do we have an Id on the VM image that can be used that does not have these limitations.

You can create a new Hue user 'hdfs' and login as that to become an actual HDFS superuser if you need to be one.

Otherwise, working under /user/cloudera sub-directories will still work as your current login.

Thanks! Can I just create a userid hdfs with any password or would that
have to match the password on of hdfs on hadoop cluster. Because I do not
know the hdfs password on hadoop cluster.

Thanks again.

The Hue accounts by default are not linked to Unix accounts, so you can set any password you require.
