Create user directory automatically in HDFS

avatar

Hi,

I have configured Cloudera 5.6.0 with Windows AD.

I have also configured hadoopadmin and hadoopuser group in AD and added users to those groups.

Now I can login to cloudera manager with those users, however their user directory under /user is not getting created automatically.

How can I configure Cloudera to create user directory automatically?

Regards

HDFS does not auto-create user home directories, and there is no such
feature to leverage. However, if you add users in Hue it presents an option
to perform this for you in its user add wizard screen.
