If I want to compile ambari from source on POWER8, Are there any instructions for this? Thank you.
I find this "https://github.com/ibmsoe/ambari", but it seems to be obsolete. And I tried to compile this, it fails.

Hi @Feng Yunkai
I'm pleased to let you know (via IBM & Hortonworks teams) that you have a couple of alternatives to compile the source.
Hortonworks keep branch copies of the source trees in github, so if you're trying to match Hortonworks you might want to use their github tree: https://github.com/hortonworks/ambari-release You can also build from the main Apache github trunk, found here: https://github.com/apache/ambari You can try building from this current one.
Note that it requires phantomjs 2.1.1, which is available on the github tree here:
https://github.com/ibmsoe/phantomjs
Hope this helps
Paul

Hi @Feng Yunkai
I'm not sure off the top of my head, but I can ask a colleague for you. Can you tell me why you need to compile the source rather then installing the Hortonworks supported version?
IBM have been working with Hortonworks to provide a supported version, which was released this year. The source you reference is +18 months old, so I'm not too surprised that it doesn't work.
Have you already tried installing the Hortonworks supported version and or searched the documentation? Links provided below.
This would be good feedback for my team.
Best Regards
Paul

Glad to know that. I was about to try running it with my refurbished IBM server(spectra) and then I found this. But still hoping they would come up with a program that would come compatible.
