For sandbox...always you have two logins....

1) root login (root/hadoop)

2) sandbox login : (root/hadoop) only for first time...

so , when you enter the root/hadoop for sandbox login first time, then it prompts to change the pwd for sandbox..

you need to then change the password for sandbox login alone not for root which is should not touched at all.

So, finally the logins are going be like this..

a) Root Login : root/hadoop

b) Sandbox Login : root/<your new password>

the one time password for the root user is hadoop. Once you login successfully first time, it asks you to change it to something else.

Did you change the password for root user earlier? If you can not recall the password or unable to login anyway then I would recommend to download the sandbox again.
