Hi, does Cloudera Express work with RHEL 6.6?

avatar

Hi,

Does Cloudera Express work with RHEL 6.6? On the Cloudera documentation site, it compatible RHEL releases include RHEL 6.5, but not RHEL 6.6.

If Cloudera Express isn't yet available for RHEL 6.6, is an early access copy available, that's compatible with RHEL 6.6?

Thank you,

Susan

Unfortunately there is no early-release version that can be handed out
at present. Please check back with Cloudera Manager 5.4 which should
out in Q2 2015. Is there anything specific about RHEL 6.6 that
prevents you from using 6.5?

You could install CDH on Red Hat 6.6 and it might just work, however
there might be a few problems here and there. If you logged a support
case, we'd be hesitant to provide advice as we don't yet test against
that release.

If he decides to enable TLS encryption between server and agents it most definitely will not work. Ran into this issue.

Hello Susan, please note my statement about Q2 2015 and CDH 5.4 wasn't
definitive. I was merely indicating that you could check to see if it is
supported when 5.4 does come out. It is difficult to promise ahead of time
as engineering priorities can change over time.

I've install it to RedHat 6.6 and works perfectly without issues.

I actually created an article with prerequisites and they just posted it if you need that link let me know.
