Hi Here,

I would like to ask for help on how to upgrade Hive from v.2.1 to v.3.x?

Or is it possible to upgrade it manually?

Currenty on latest CDH 6.2.

Already saw this references;

Yes it possible however , you are doing at your own risk as cloudera does not recommend usually if you are using package that its pretty straight forward , if you want to use parcel then you have to write your own custom parcel to deploy hive binaries that you want.

Currenty on latest CDH 6.2.

CDH 6.2 comes with Apache Hive 2.1.1
By using the above you are guaranteed that everything has been tested, bugs have been fixed, and things will roll out smoothly
