hello

my cluster is cdh5.14   centos7.4   JAVA7

We have been receiving alerts for Impala. The health test result for IMPALAD_QUERY_MONITORING_STATUS has become bad: There are 0 error(s) seen monitoring executing queries, and 1 errors(s) seen monitoring completed queries for this role in the previous 5 minute(s). Critical threshold: any.

The following picture shows cloudera-scm-agent error logs

how to solve this error?

Hello @mrblack

Thank you for reaching out

This looks to be a known issue on the old CDH version and is being fixed in CDH 6.3.4

For the time being you can try below two options

1.) As a workaround you can safely increase query monitoring thresholds. In Cloudera Manager > Impala > Configuration > Impala Daemon > Search for "query monitoring":

Set "Query Monitoring Timeout" to 30 (Default 5)
Set "Query Monitoring Period" to 10 (Default 1)

2.) Try restarting the cloudera-scm-agent as well

Note: This does not guarantee that the alerts won't show up again, but will make them less frequent.
