I am facing issue in installing Ambari server in AWS Linux. Kindly help me understand does AWS Linux supports Ambari. I tried running ambari-server setup. Error : Unable to recognise the OS

It is not supported. AWS linux is a branch of CentOS, but presents a few differences.
This is the latest Ambari supported OS, but it is pretty much the same for old versions.

Are you referring to the correct ambari repository?
Can you please share the "/etc/yum.repos.d/" directory contents and the "/etc/yum.repos.d/ambari.repo" file details here. Also please let us know which OS are you using?
