Hi there,

After reinstalling JDK and restrating cluster I got this error in the master node.

 Someone knows how to recover this host.

Cheers,

@ernesto

Spoiler
I run apt remove scm-agent

Means this removed the agent packages.

Then

Spoiler
and apt install scm-agent....

Means this is not trying to connect within Cloudera Repo which is behind paywall hence failing.

The catch is that the running cluster will stay but whenever you try to change things like add host host or other operations it will fails since you need paywall subscription.
In short you cannot add a new host (which is equivalent to installing an agent on some host again).

Cheers!

@ernesto  What error you are getting? I am not seeing any error description in question.

You should look at agent logs from host and try to hard restart the agent if that help.

I was changing jdk on our utility host and it felt on this status "unhealthy host static". Therefore, I could not start any service on this host.  I try to reinstall the scm-agent, as I read in a blog, but I could remove it but not installing. Main reason is that CDH6.3.1 repo disappear and 6.3.2 a licence is required.   I try to add a new host and migrate the roles of the affected host. But also I get the same problem of repos.

Is there a way o correct this problem without a username/password, is there any registration in which I get a free license for that?

Thankx,

@ernesto Since the Paywall expansion. You have to have a valid subscription to access Cloudera Repo. Please see some similar discussion around the same ask.

Hi there,

I am quite confused, I get from

@mattschumpert (Cloudera Employee), this :

You will NOT lose access to anything if you are using Cloudera Manager 5 or 6 with an unlicensed cluster.  Cloudera Manager will continue to run either fully features or with the Cloudera Express feature set for some Cloudera Manager 6 versions.  You can find details about this in the Cloudera Enterprise data sheet here: https://www.cloudera.com/content/dam/www/marketing/resources/datasheets/cloudera-enterprise-datashee...

In the datasheet is quite clear that CDH6 Express will continue FREE.... I try to get credentials from mycloudera.com  as you suggested but is clear that I had to contact sales and start paying.

At this point the question that need to be answer: Is there a way to continue with my existing CDH6 express without paying?

Thankx,

@ernesto As per my understanding NO. Since you have removed host and tried re adding which needs a repo with credentials. If you have offline RPMs on other host you can give it a try.

Ok, let me add a detail, I had not removed host. I run apt remove scm-agent and apt install scm-agent.... the last one fail of course with the new paywall.

Is there any way of just reinstalling scm-agent on this host?

Thankx,
