Solution for a free hadoop cluster

Hello,

I absolutely have to create a hadoop cluster for my course. But cloudera manager is not available for free anymore, so I wanted to take the apache ambari solution but this one is not accessible via horton work anymore. What solution do I have left to install a hadoop cluster that is free?

I haven't personally attempted it recently, but some members of the cloudera community have reported success building and deploying Apache Ambari from source code, which is readily available from Apache's website or any number of mirrors.
