TEZ Parameter Error on RUNTIME

Helloe Everyone

Iam trying to set the below parameter on HIVE using TEZ engine

set tez.shuffle-vertex-manager.min-src-fraction=1.0 ;

But getting below error:

Error: Error while processing statement: Cannot modify tez.shuffle-vertex-manager.min-src-fraction at runtime. It is not in list of params that are allowed to be modified at runtime (state=42000,code=1)

I have tez.shuffle-vertex-manager.min-src-fraction parameter already in my cluster. But i want to change the value f. Please help

can you check if this property is not in restricted list, either from ambari or in hive-site.xml check for the property hive.conf.restricted.list.

if it is there then remove it and restart all hive services and try to set it again.

I have below parameters are restricted hive.security.authenticator.manger, hive.security.authorization, hive.users.in.admin.role

seems your sqlstd authrization is enabled,can you check if it is there in output of set hive.security.authorization.sqlstd.confwhitelist; in hive shell?

how to check that.. in the configuration file ? But i am setting parameter for TEZ not for HIVE right... why i should check this things..

open hivecli and do set hive.security.authorization.sqlstd.confwhitelist; that will give you complete whitelist
