TEZ without mapreduce

We have a customer want to know
Does any parameter could use TEZ without mapreduce, the user use statement/parameter is "-D mapreduce.job.queuename"

The information for user site information is as below:
HIVE version: 3.1.3.000
CDH version : 7.1.7 .p1037.28987427-el7
