Upgrade HDP 2.1 to 2.3 using Ambari 2.1 best method !

Please help for HDP up-grade from 2.1 to 2.3

1) Is it possible to up-grade using Ambari 2.1.

2) When i am looking for the documents Manual up-grade is there , is possible from Ambari 2,1 ?

Upgrading to HDP 2.3 you have to use Ambari 2.0, using Ambari 2.1 to upgrade to 2.3 is not supported. http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.1.2.1/bk_upgrading_Ambari/content/_ambari_upgrade_...

Ambari 2.1 does not support directly upgrading from HDP 2.0 or HDP 2.1 to HDP 2.3. In order to upgrade from HDP 2.0 or HDP 2.1, you must first upgrade to HDP 2.2 using either Ambari 1.7 or 2.0. Once completed, upgrade your current Ambari to Ambari 2.1. Then, leverage Ambari 2.1 to complete the upgrade from HDP 2.2 to HDP 2.3.

Following this i did it

1) I have up-grade the amabri from 2.0 to 2.2

2) After up-grade ambari working fine, with existing 2.1 HDP.

3) Is it possible to up-grade HDP 2.1 to 2.3 Using Ambari 2.2 using Local Repository ?

Kindly advise with your suggestion.

Ambari 2.1 does not support directly upgrading from HDP 2.0 to HDP 2.3. In order to upgrade from HDP 2.0, you must first upgrade to HDP 2.2 using either Ambari 1.7 or 2.0. Once completed, upgrade your current Ambari to Ambari 2.1. Then, leverage Ambari 2.1 to complete the upgrade from HDP 2.2 to HDP 2.3.

Also Ambari 2.2 does not support HDP 2.0 and you must upgrade to HDP 2.2 using either Ambari 1.7 or 2.0 before going to Ambari 2.2.

Assuming you have upgraded to Ambari 2.2.0.0 you could perform Express Upgrade of HDP from 2.1 to 2.3 --> this is a supported path
