Hello @araujo - Yes. That is the issue. From Java 11, we may need to explicitly set the keystore type. Thanks, Prabu

@wenfeng The posts were older and not viewed often so they were achived. We have removed the two posts from the archive so you can take a look. Please let us know if you find either of them helpful so we can reconsider putting them back in the archive state.

Since we launched in 2013, the ability of our members to find answers has been an essential aspect of our community. Members can often resolve an issue by simply applying an existing community solution. However, if a member cannot find a suitable solution, they usually post a new question to the community.
Last year we updated the feedback system on the community to gain further insights on usability and how to serve our members better. The update included a feedback button on every page, occasional pop-up surveys and a new relevancy question on the bottom of the search page.
As a result of the feedback received, we understand that members want us to improve our search results. Therefore, in addition to investigating ways to improve search results, we have initiated changes to streamline search results. After reviewing the existing questions on the community, we determined that many questions showing up in search results were unresolved or unhelpful. So this week, we took action by archiving many of these posts. Many archived posts were unsolved questions, five years or older and not viewed very often. Archival will not affect a member's post statistics while removing the posts from view. Archiving these posts will improve our members' search result speed and relevancy, but there is more to be done. We are evaluating a couple of search features such as adding synonyms so, for example, if someone searches for "failure", we could also provide results for "error" that may be related. Another feature is "promoted search", which suggests specific content for certain keywords(s). We look forward to your continued feedback and improving the community for all.

@kevmac you and @Eric_B can find out about the actual target Log4j library version for Cloudera's suggested remediation by consulting the blog post Cloudera Response to CVE-2021-44228. The version of the Log4j library that the aforementioned remediation script is intended for is specified in the very first paragraph, sub-headed Summary.

Dennis, Thanks for your kind answer, but -> I'm not a company, I'm a person trying to use open source software to learn and contribute like anyone else ... if Cloudera claims that his software is open source so why an agreement is needed? It shouldn't, it defeats completely the purpose. I'm not signing any "agreements", either the code is free on NOT, as simple as that!! If NOT, then just say so ... Stop using "open source" as a fashion flag, this will simply diminish the real coders that produce and put their code available REALLY FOR FREE!! If Cloudera got the free code available and built upon on and now wants to sell it, OK, I have no problem with that, but DONT say it is opne source, because it isn't if you charge for it ... Sorry, but this is so obvious to me ... am I so blind, dumb or missing anything here?

Cloudera is aware of CVE-2021-4104, which affects the Apache Log4j 1.x JMSAppender. This flaw only affects software that is explicitly configured to use the JMSAppender, which is not the default, or when the attacker has write access to the Log4j configuration for adding JMSAppender. Cloudera does not use JMSAppender in its products and it is not used by default in log4j properties. Cloudera customers do not need to take any action to address CVE-2021-4104. If you have further questions, please contact Cloudera Support through our My Cloudera Support portal.
Because Cloudera Manager and Ambari allow authenticated users with privileged access to modify cluster configuration to insert custom logging configuration, customers are advised to review the logging configuration for their clusters to ensure that they do not contain references to the JMSAppender. To find these settings, look for the following based on the cluster management tool in use:
Cloudera Manager: "{SERVICE_NAME} Logging Advanced Configuration Snippet (Safety Valve)"
Ambari: “Advanced{SERVICE_NAME}-log4j”
