We are pleased to announce the release of Impala JDBC v2.5.43. The release has the following fixes: Resolved Issues in Impala JDBC 2.5.43 When a parameter is bound to a BigDecimal Value, the driver rounds off the value incorrectly. In some cases, the driver incorrectly returns the following error: “Unable to obtain fetch semaphore in time. Fetch thread might have died unexpectedly”. Driver fails to connect through Kerberos when using a ticket cache with an IBM JVM In some cases, the driver fails to execute batched insert operations using prepared statements that are written in Impala syntax. In some cases, the driver fails to execute batched update operations. Driver removes comments from queries when the UseNativeQuery property is set to 1. Getting Started with the Cloudera Driver Read the Cloudera Impala JDBC 2.5.43 Driver for Impala Release Notes and Installation Guide. Download the connector from the Cloudera Connectors page. As always, we welcome your feedback. Please send your comments and suggestions to the user group of through our community forums. We are pleased to announce the release of Impala JDBC v2.5.42. The release has the following fixes and enhancements: Resolved Issues in Impala JDBC 2.5.42 AllowSelfSignedCerts does not disable SSL. This issue has been resolved. Now, when the AllowSelfSignedCerts property is set to 1, SSL verification is disabled. The driver does not verify the server certificate against the trust store, and does not verify if the server's host name matches the CN or Subject Alternative Names in the server certificate. System does not display message for authentication failure. The com.cloudera.commons.codec.binary.Base64 class does not resolve to the correct dependency. If a connection fails due to there being no information available from the server, a generic system message is shown: “Error setting/closing session: null”. This been resolved, the driver now shows the appropriate connection error message in this scenario. Getting Started with the Cloudera Driver Read the Cloudera Impala JDBC 2.5.42 Driver for Impala Release Notes and Installation Guide. Download the connector from the Cloudera Connectors page. As always, we welcome your feedback. Please send your comments and suggestions to the user group of through our community forums. Resolved Issues in Hive JDBC 2.5.20 When next() is called for a second time on ResultSet that does not have any more rows, an incorrect exception is thrown. This issue has been resolved. The driver now returns False. AllowSelfignedCerts does not disable SSL. The issue has been resolved. Now, when AllowSelfSignedCerts property is set to 1, SSL verification is disabled. The driver does not verify the server certificate against the trust store, and does not verify if the server’s host name matches the CN or Subject Alternative Names in the server certificate. This behavior is consistent with Cloudera JDBC Driver for Apache Hive 2.5.18 and earlier. For a full list of enhancements, new features, and resolved issues, please see the Release Notes below. We are pleased to announce the release of Impala ODBC v2.5.40 and Impala JDBC v2.5.41. The release has the following fixes and enhancements: Impala ODBC 2.5.40 Enhancements and New Features in Impala ODBC 2.5.40 The drivers now supports Impala versions 1.0.1 through 2.9. You can now set configurations options so that they apply to every connection that uses the driver. Before, most configuration options had to be set individually for each connection. The DelegationUIDCase property has been renamed. It is now called DelegationUserIDCase. The driver now automatically canonicalizes the server SPN when using Active Directory Kerberos. Resolved Issues in Impala ODBC 2.5.40 On macOS, the driver sometimes terminates unexpectedly when authenticating the connection through Kerberos. Driver installation failing on Linux has been resolved. The issue occurred because the RPM file used an incorrect path for the installation directory. If a query contains a scalar subquery, the driver returns an error and fails to execute the query. Getting Started with the Cloudera Driver Read the Cloudera ODBC 2.5.40 Driver for Impala Release Notes and Installation Guide. Download the connector from the Cloudera Connectors page. Impala JDBC 2.5.41 Resolved Issues in Impala JDBC 2.5.41 In some cases, the driver throws a “Metadata Result Set Error” when executing COMPUTE INCREMENTAL STATS statement consecutively. Getting Started with the Cloudera Driver Read the Cloudera JDBC 2.5.41 Driver for Impala Release Notes and Installation Guide. Download the connector from the Cloudera Connectors page. We are pleased to announce the release of Hive ODBC v2.5.24 and Hive JDBC v2.5.19. The release has the following fixes and enhancements: Enhancements and New Features in Hive ODBC 2.5.24 Updated configuration option: The name of the Delegation User ID case configuration option has changed from DelegationUIDcase to DelegationUserIDcase. Resolved Issues in Hive ODBC 2.5.24 The statement “set hive.support.quoted.identifiers=column” is executed incorrectly. Driver report only read operations are supported in the driver log. The INFINITY value for FLOAT columns are not correctly retrieved. Error/status code returned for query timeout error is incorrect. NaN value retrieved for FLOAT columns is incorrect. The operation handle for metadata API calls is not closed correctly Getting Started with the Cloudera Driver Read the Cloudera ODBC 2.5.24 Driver for Hive Release Notes and Installation Guide. Download the connector from the Cloudera Connectors page. Enhancements and New Features in Hive JDBC 2.5.19 AsyncExecPollInterval Configuration Option: You can configure how often the driver polls the server for query execution status. WEEK function now supported. As of this version, the driver now supports translation of the WEEK function. Resolved Issues in Hive JDBC 2.5.19 In some configurations, users would receive a NullPointer system message when attempting to connect to the server. The driver sometimes returns fewer rows than expected if the JVM is running low on memory, even though no errors are reported. ORDER BY queries that contain subqueries are translated incorrectly. In certain situations, the driver returns a different ResultSet column name depending on whether UseNativeQuery is enabled or disabled. If allowHostNameMismatch is set to 0, the driver does not compare the host name and the common name of the SSL server If allowSelfSignedCert is set to 1, the driver does not verify the SSL certificate. Getting Started with the Cloudera Driver Read the Cloudera JDBC 2.5.19 Driver for Hive Release Notes and Installation Guide. Download the connector from the Cloudera Connectors page.
