Hi @araujo , Much thankful to your answer.. Yes it worked for me after fixing user. I had to enable native password for the user.. so, I ran this command "ALTER USER 'replication'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED WITH mysql_native_password BY 'somepassword' " to fix user   (One other observation while connecting through SQL client is, if I just leave the database name empty then it connects with replication user, if any db name is provided, it will throws error.)      ... Hello @hbasetest You wish to enable Normalizer at Cluster Level irrespective of the Table Level Setting i.e. NORMALIZATION_ENABLED be True or False. I didn't notice that the property "external" is case sensitive,the step 2 should be ALTER TABLE alter_test SET TBLPROPERTIES('EXTERNAL'='false'); ,then the location would be changed in CDP7.1.1. And In CDP 7.1.7, It does not work even if I set property "TRANSLATED_TO_EXTERNAL" to  true after creating table ,could you try the steps and give an attachment? thanks. ... View more

@Asim- JDBC also you need HWC for Managed tables. Here is the example for Spark2, but as mentioned earlier Spark3 we don't have any other way to connect Hive ACID tables from Apache Spark other than HWC and it is not yet a supported feature for Spark3.2 / CDS 3.2 in CDP 7.1.7.
