@Andrew Grande are you using field name suffix? I'm running @Ali Bajwa twitter demo in Solr Cloud mode (hdp search 2.3.2 default rpm), using data_drive_schema and it seems to be working. Please see image below, only "tag_ss" field is multi-valued, other fields are not. I can sort on all the fields except tag_ss. Can you give some more details about your issue?

Does anyone have a best practices guide / performance checklist for namenode? I know when we increase namenode_heapsize, we should also adjust namenode_opt_newsize, namenode_opt_maxnewsize, namenode_opt_permsize, namenode_opt_maxpermsize, but what are the reference calculations for this adjustment? Also there is: dfs.namenode.handler.count and dfs.namenode.service.handler.count, as discussed in question below, but same here, what are reference values for these properties? Is it based number of nodes only or should also be increased based on usage patterns?

I see about 15,000 lines like below per second in the log files. Is it a known issue? Any solution? Nov 12, 2015 3:40:04 PM com.sun.jersey.server.wadl.generators.WadlGeneratorJAXBGrammarGenerator attachTypes

Thanks @Shane Kumpf, it's been a while since I wanted to clarify it, totally clear now. Have you seen people using: DominantResourceCalculator? This one makes much more sense to me.

Can yarn allocate more vcores (containers) than cluster VCores Total (sum of all node manager: yarn.nodemanager.resource.cpu-cores)? In my tests only memory is limiting applications to get accepted and execute containers. I expected it be limited by both, Memory and Vcores available. See screenshot below where "VCores used" is greater than "VCores total".
