I recommend downloading the client configs from Ambari and use those xml files in your program. https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.1.2.0/bk_Ambari_Users_Guide/content/_downloading_client_configs.html

With the release of Smartsense 1.3 you're able to get that information from your cluster using tools like Ambari Metrics Service and prebuilt Zepplin notebooks.

Zeppelin support was only added in HDP 2.5, please remove the service and consider upgrading ambari to 2.4.1 and HDP to 2.5.
