What is meant by "total capacity usage of the product?" This is stated in the Pricing FAQs and Updates for Cloudera Base on premises: "The monetization updates to Cloudera Base on premises and Cloudera Streaming more accurately and fairly price based on total capacity usage of the product."

I have a question regarding the long-term support alignment for CDP Private Cloud Base 7.1.9. As you know, CDP 7.1.9 is an LTS release supported until October 2028. Initially, this version only supported Python 3.8, but due to the relatively early EOL of Python 3.8, support for Python 3.11 was introduced starting from SP1 CHF9. On the other hand, CDP 7.1.9 depends on OpenJDK 17, whose end of support is currently December 31, 2027. This creates a potential misalignment with the CDP LTS support period extending into late 2028. Given the precedent with Python (i.e., adding support for a newer version within the same LTS release via CHF updates), we would like to understand the roadmap for Java: Are there any plans to support a newer OpenJDK version (e.g., OpenJDK 21 or later) within CDP 7.1.9 through future SP/CHF updates? If so, is there an estimated timeline or target CHF/SP where this support might be introduced? If not, how does Cloudera plan to address the gap between the OpenJDK 17 EoS (Dec 2027) and CDP 7.1.9 support end (Oct 2028)?

Thanks Asish! In our product, we've already bumped up our Hive version to 4.1 and connecting from a Hive 4.1 client to Hive 3.x doesn't work in many instances. We've made some changes to Hive 4.1 to allow slightly more backwards compatibility but there are some instances where serialized objects are used and can't be deserialized because of version mismatches. Thanks, Moe

According to https://hive.apache.org/general/downloads/ "The Apache Hive Community has voted to declare the 3.x release line as End of Life (EOL). This means no further updates or releases will be made for this series. We urge all Hive 3.x users to upgrade to the latest versions promptly to benefit from new features and ongoing support." CDP 7.3.1 is still very much based on Hive 3. https://docs.cloudera.com/cdp-private-cloud-base/7.3.1/hive-introduction/topics/hive_whats_new_in_this_release_hive.html https://docs.cloudera.com/cdp-private-cloud-base/7.3.1/hive-introduction/topics/hive-apache-hive-3-architectural-overview.html When will Cloudera on base support Hive 4? Thanks

We’ve set up Cloudera Manager 7.13.1 along with CDP Private Cloud Base 7.3.1 on RHEL 9.4. As part of our environment validation, we’re looking to include Apache Spark 3 in the stack. However, we haven’t been able to locate a supported Spark 3 parcel that’s officially compatible with this combination. We’ve reviewed the Cloudera Support Matrix, but couldn’t find a clear reference for Spark 3 support with these specific versions of CDP and CM. According to a recent blog post, Announcing availability of Spark 3.5 on Cloudera Unified Runtime which also directs the reader to What's New in Apache Spark (7.3.1). Apparently Spark 3 is supported by 7.3.1 and Spark 3.5 by 7.3.1 SP1. Does Spark still get installed separately or is it included with the base runtime? Should the support matrix be updated to reflect support for Spark 3?
