Thanks for the insight. At power up, I kept tapping ESC key, and eventually a screen came up, and directed me to hit F10 to access BIOS. I was able to set Virtualization parameter to ENABLED. I rebooted, and then "played the VM" and it loaded properly.

The zip file seemed to load down and unzip successfully. I think the problem may well be with virtualization NOT enabled in BIOS. However, I am having a difficult time figuirng out how to get to BIOS to make the change. I am running Windows 10 on an HP Spectre (Intel Core i7-5500U CPU@ 2.40 GHz 2.40 GHz). I don't know the command to get access to BIOS. I have a SSD, and the system boots up very quickly, so doesn't allow much time to hit any keys such as ESC, F10, etc. as suggested in some forums I have read.

I am a Coursera student. I am running VMware Workstation 12 Player on Windows 10. I am trying to open the virtual machine ‘QuickStart VMs for CDH 5.4.x’. When I attempt to “play the virtual machine”, the screen in VMware goes black for about 2 seconds, and then immediately returns to the Welcome to VMware screen, and the Cloudera Live environment never starts, even after 10 minutes. I have rebooted and tried the whole start up process again, but get the same results. Any other ideas on how I get the CDH 5.4 to play?
