Hi, I too had same problem faced today , the CM GUI was not coming up , when i was trying to access with <IP>:7180 i had bounced the server and db couple of times but didn't get through 1-> cloudera-scm-server.log - no errors 2-> netstat -anp | grep 7180 - LISTEN No I have searched & suspected for the firewall, IPtables so a-> service iptables stop Redirecting to /bin/systemctl stop iptables.service Failed to stop iptables.service: Unit iptables.service not loaded. came to know iptables not loaded into my machine b-> yum install iptables-services -- successfully installed iptable services c-> Now started the Iptables and firewall d-> Just retried the <IP>:7180 -- no luck e-> now disabled the Iptables and firewall [root@master ]# service iptables save iptables: Saving firewall rules to /etc/sysconfig/iptables: [ OK ] [root@master ]# service iptables stop Redirecting to /bin/systemctl stop iptables.service [root@master ]# chkconfig iptables off Note: Forwarding request to 'systemctl disable iptables.service'. [root@master ]# service iptables status Redirecting to /bin/systemctl status iptables.service â— iptables.service - IPv4 firewall with iptables Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/iptables.service; disabled; vendor preset: disabled) Active: inactive (dead) since Sun 2019-03-17 22:47:16 IST; 22s ago Main PID: 12163 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) NOW TRIED THE CM GUI <IP>:7180 hurry its started 🙂

The 5.4 VM is no longer available. The 5.5 VM is current. You're probably following an old link (if you followed a link from Cloudera's website to get there, let me know and I'll see about getting it fixed).
