we are on CDH 5.7.1, kerberos configured, users able to pull kerberos tickets and perform hdfs functions. but there are some issues, not yet enabled sentry security user role based authentication. there are some gaps. Is there a rule to have specific set of Ad groups created on hadoop cluster ldap config? I login to cluster as sudo user, need to know what are the steps to view what Ad groups are configured on the box. Thanks a lot for the helpful info.

How to kill or cancel a query if it is running longer than normal automatically, i killed queries that are running longer from cloudera manager. but want something automated way. Please provide details if there is a possibility. Thank you very much for the helpful info.

Hi Kumar, We haven't yet enabled Sentry, right now giving issues due to missing property values etc on various config files. prior to enabling sentry, want to make sure to create all groups / roles and then enable sentry on hive configuration. Please sir, do you have steps on linux creating required group & user roles. following are the roles which i want to plan on creating: Auditor, Read-Only, Limited Operator, Operator, Configurator, Cluster Administrator ,BDR Administrator, Navigator Administrator, User Administrator, Key Administrator, Full Administrator Thank you very much for the helpful info.

We are having issues, the moment with enabled teh sentry, all schemas are disappearing straight seems like the roles are not defined thats why not seeing anything, now reverted back to unchecking sentry from hive configuration. I am trying to enable the sentry service with cloudera hadoop and there are some xml side properties that need to be plugged into hive-site.xml and hdfs-site.xml file along with sentry.xml file. We have three master nodesa and 4 data nodes. i did find the files in the following on every single server: Paths to config files: /etc/hive/conf/hive-site.xml /etc/sentry/sentry-site.xml /etc/hadoop/conf/core-site.xml and hdfs-site.xml Just wanted to know what is the proper way to find the exact xml file that is being used as part of each service. I log into Hue editor and able to access impala or hive and run queries against hadoop fs. How to log into hive server 2, is there a web based interface available, we are on CDH 5.7.1 Could you please provide any commands if need to be used in order to log into hive server 2. Thank you for the helpful info.
