We did have a few issues with our CDN that serves requests to archive.cloudera.com. Are you able to try again please? Please verify if the VERSION file is available and readable by the hdfs user. If yes then what are the contents?

Upgrading just some components of CDH is not a supported configuration. You could upgrade to Cloudera Manager 5.4 and then to CDH5.4 to obtain Hive 1.1

Click on Configuration 3. Under the Impala (Service Wide) category set the property named Impala Service Environment Advanced Configuration Snippet (Safety Valve) to the following value: LC_ALL="C" 4. Click Save Changes 5. Restart Impala

Sorry but we currently do not support Lustre either in parallel or to replace HDFS. You could try contacting hadoop.on.lustre@seagate.com as mentioned in the README
