@trent_larson As this is an older post, you would have a better chance of receiving a resolution by starting a new thread. This will also provide the opportunity to provide details specific to your environment that could aid others in providing a more accurate answer to your question.

@Dhiraj I hope your just changing the ports here. Already rpc calls should be enabled on the cluster. If thats the case "Changing the service RPC port settings requires a restart of the NameNodes, DataNodes and ZooKeeper Failover Controllers to take full effect. If you have NameNode HA setup, you can restart the NameNodes one at a time followed by a rolling restart of the remaining components to avoid cluster downtime." Hope this helps you.

@Dhiraj Standalone Ambari View Instances should use their own Separate DB instead of using the Regular Operational Ambari Server DB. This is also mentioned in the recommendation: https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.5.1.0/bk_ambari-views/content/standalone_server_setup.html Please see the following note in this link: Important: Do not share the DB with an Operational Ambari Server. . .

@Dhiraj Yes, delegate admin in Ranger can all "selecting and changing user/group and permissions" for all this policies. Delegate admin will have full permissions as admin but with respective to that policy only.

@Dhiraj Yes, as Sonu mentioned it works only if the account is synced before LDAP sync. This works similar to Ambari LDAP sync but here in Ranger User sync will be automatic.

In addition to @mqureshi, if you are looking for upgrade proccess. There are two methods for upgrading HDP with Ambari: Rolling Upgrade and Express Upgrade. A Rolling Upgrade orchestrates the HDP upgrade in an order that is meant to preserve cluster operation and minimize service impact during upgrade. This process has more stringent prerequisites (particularly regarding cluster high availability configuration) and can take longer to complete than an Express Upgrade. An Express Upgrade orchestrates the HDP upgrade in an order that will incur cluster downtime but with less stringent prerequisites. Here is the link for the upgrade procces https://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/Ambari-2.5.1.0/bk_ambari-upgrade/content/upgrading_HDP_perform_the_upgrade.html Hope this helps you.
