Request for @Ancil McBarnett (or anyone else who knows): Please flesh out a little on ... "You do not want Derby in your cluster."

Thank you both. This makes me very hopeful. May I ask for one more layer of context (since working with APIs and Pig scripts is new to me)? Something along the lines of...
To learn how to do your first [pig script/api call], read this [link/book/blog post/etc.] A good example of this kind of [pig script/api call], can be found at this [link] Thanks for your patience with a neophyte. 🙂

Current process: Click a page > Wait > Copy table to Excel > Repeat (tedious!) I use the information for some summary metrics about usage of our database and error checking on batch queries. Note: Since Tez UI Ambari view is going away in 2.7 (reference link), I would REALLY like to find a way to get at this information programatically. <Screenshot of Tez Hive Queries screen attached>

I am trying to add a new server as an edge node on our cluster (HDP 2.4.2.0-258 with Ambari 2.2.2.0).
When I add the host (wizard in Ambari), I receive a Success status result with warnings (see screenshot).
One of the warnings is:
The following package should be uninstalled: vnstat.x86_64.
When I click Next, Ambari asks me (see dire warning screenshot below) to confirm that I want to proceed and incur "potentially MAJOR problems with cluster installation."
Our IT group prefers to leave VNSTAT installed for their support processes.
Question:
What are the implications of leaving VNSTAT installed for Ambari's purposes when adding an edge node?
Thanks!
