We’re excited to announce the Cloudera and Hortonworks communities will merge this summer! You will first notice the design upgrades to the Cloudera Community in late July, followed by more members and content in early August after the merge with Hortonworks Community.
We’re ushering in the unified Cloudera Community with enhanced designs, upgraded functionality, and across-the-board improvements to make your experience even better. This revamp allows us to more easily provide quality answers, expertise, self-help, peer-to-peer discussion, and customer journey support.
Here’s a taste of what you can expect from the redesigned Cloudera Community:
- Modernized Platform: Powered by the Khoros platform, home to over 2,000 major brand’s support communities - like Microsoft, HP, and Cisco - is an industry-leading platform that will make it easier for you to engage, get answers, find solutions, and more.
- Better and Simpler Design: A modern look and simplified organization makes it easier than ever to find what you need, when you need it.
- Improved Interaction: Have a problem to solve? The answer is now just a click away. Every page contains our new “Ask a Question” button so you no longer need to know where to find your solution.
- Mobile Friendly: The new site won’t just look great on your laptop. Enjoy clean layouts and simple navigation from your smartphone, tablet, conference room or widescreen monitor.
- Code Repositories and Community Articles: For the first time…you’ll have the ability to create community articles and code repos! But that’s not all, we’re bringing over Hortonworks’ code repositories and existing user articles to help us grow our collective knowledge. That means, you can now share your expertise and tips and tricks such as troubleshooting techniques with your peers. Even more, you can now reference the code repositories in your articles and answers!
- New Reputation System: We’re implementing a brand new badge and ranking system that rewards your participation and accomplishments. Stay tuned!
This is only the beginning! As you learn more about the enhanced Cloudera Community in the coming weeks, we want to hear from you. What do you like? What can we do better? Communities succeed by working together, and your feedback is vital to our success both now and in the future.
