I uploaded a file into my HDFS user directory using the Ambari HDFS view and moved it into my temp folder.
I tried to delete the file and get a 500 Server Error:
I looked in the Ambari Server logs and see this error:

Any idea what this is saying? We recently upgraded Ambari to 2.2.2.0 and I'm pretty sure this was working in Ambari 2.1.2.1.

@Sagar Shimpi I think I found the issue. There is an old view named HDFS_BROWSE from Ambari 2.1 and a new view named AUTO_FILES_INSTANCE in Ambari 2.2. I was using the old view which doesn't work anymore. I can delete files fine using the new view.

Can you please provide WebHCat log file?

1. Is this error for only one file or all files ?
2. Can you try deleting same from cli ? just to check if this is problem only with ambari view.

@Sagar Shimpi 1) All the files I've tried through the Ambari HDFS View have had this issue. 2) I can delete the file from the CLI so I do think it is only a problem with the ambari view.

@Kit Menke yes, it seems the issue with hive view. Was this HIVE view working previously? Did you tried restarting ambari server and check if that works ? what is the version of ambari and HDP you are using ?
