Using LogSearch for General Non-HDP Log Reporting

Hello,

It is my understanding that the point of LogSearch is to be able to report on the core HDP services logs.

I wanted to know if it is possible to post external log files from other sources such as Windows Server logs to HDFS and then use LogSearch to report of these logs? Or is the whole point of LogSearch for reporting specifically for the currently installed services in HDP?

@Eric England The goal of LogSearch was indeed for cluster components, and not third party logs. Hortonworks does provide a solution that could work for third party logs with HDP Search (Solr/Banana) on the HDP cluster that you may want to look at. Here are some links that may be useful:
