Hi @prasanna06 Hopefully you are aware that in the space of the last few months, Cloudera modified its download policies and the binaries you are seeking to download are now only available in a private repository. If not, please see the announcement here: Transition to private repositories for CDH, HDP and HDF The credentials to access this private repository are not generally the same ones to access Cloudera's website or the Cloudera community. In order to gain access to this private repository, people with a valid Cloudera subscription can generate the necessary repository credentials from a CDH license key. The background and detailed procedure to obtain the necessary credentials can be found on this page: CDH 6 Download Information …scroll down to the section headed Authentication to the Cloudera Archive

Hi @tuanngoc From an important announcement earlier this month, Transition to private repositories for CDH, HDP and HDF: …beginning in February 2021, no versions of Cloudera Manager, CDH, Apache Ambari, HDP and HDF releases will be available via Cloudera's public repositories. Instead, all of the then-currently supported releases of Cloudera Manager, CDH, Ambari, HDP and HDF will be accessible only to active customers with valid subscription entitlements to these Cloudera products. The upshot is that If you want to continue retrieving HDP from Cloudera's repositories you will have to have a valid Cloudera Subscription.

@pravin_speaks I would again strongly recommend you closely read the announcement I linked to above, Transition to private repositories for CDH, HDP and HDF because it has a section labeled Installing/upgrading Ambari & HDP via Cloudera’s private repository that in turn has links to extensive documentation on how to download and install certain earlier versions of Ambari and HDP; to be specific: Ambari 2.6.x.x and HDP 2.6.5.0 Ambari 2.7.x.x and HDP 3.x.x.x …as far as whether or not earlier "versions of Ambari and HDP can be downloaded if valid access is received from cloudera", that question is addressed in that same announcement, which states: …new patch releases of …Ambari have been made available and are required to access Cloudera’s private repositories, which now contain these new and existing releases. Versions other than those outlined below will no longer be able to install CDH, HDP or HDF from Cloudera’s public repositories. Emphasis added.

Hi @zuoseven , Cloudera recently changed the download policy for legacy CDH binaries and now to download software such as CDH 6.3.3 from Cloudera you need a valid subscription. Please see the announcement here: Transition to private repositories for CDH, HDP and HDF Toward the end of that announcement, you will see a section titled Instructions for CDH Customers with hyperlinks to further documentation which explains the credentials and how to properly obtain them if you don't have them already. If you don't need that specific version of CDH and are just interested in personally learning a data platform, you may still download a Trial Version of CDP Private Cloud.

Hi @vavkkishoreusa I think the most likely explanation is that after the Udemy video was produced and made available for sale, Cloudera changed the download policy and now to download the software you need a valid Subscription. Please see the announcement here: Transition to private repositories for CDH, HDP and HDF I think the passage that is most pertinent to your situation is this one: …beginning in February 2021, no versions of Cloudera Manager, CDH, Apache Ambari, HDP and HDF releases will be available via Cloudera's public repositories. Instead, all of the then-currently supported releases of Cloudera Manager, CDH, Ambari, HDP and HDF will be accessible only to active customers with valid subscription entitlements to these Cloudera products. The credentials that one would need to access the private repository mentioned there are not the same ones used to access the other public areas of Cloudera's website, including the Cloudera Community. You can read more about the process for obtaining the credentials for accessing the private repository at the hyperlinks provided in the section labeled Installing/upgrading Ambari & HDP via Cloudera’s private repository in the same document.

Hi @mchitrala Regarding the HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden error you are receiving from the repository http://public-repo-1.hortonworks.com/, I think you will be able to find a relevant, previously-posted answer to a question very similar to yours in this thread: Hortonworks Repositories can't be accessed

@gwsolutions The short answer: No, I don't know if you will have issues and I can't provide any guidance. The long answer: I personally would not be comfortable providing anyone any assurances that if they "just" avoid new installations, upgrades, adding new hosts, adding new clusters, or adding new services that they will absolutely not encounter any issues with their existing clusters. In theory, yes, those are the operations that would be affected by the recent private repository implementation , but I am not aware of anyone who has done comprehensive before-and-after testing of legacy versions of Cloudera Manager to prove it. I also have seen recent reports, both on this site and elsewhere, of Hadoop Administrators doing normal, everyday operations with Cloudera Manager that fail in unexpected ways after Cloudera implemented their private repositories policy because those operations depended upon access to assets on Cloudera's formerly public repositories in highly indirect ways and when that access was blocked, the operations failed in a manner that was difficult to troubleshoot. It could be that the Hadoop Administrators at those sites could have "just" set up local repositories to avoid this happening, but as a practical matter they didn't, so it doesn't matter now because it's too late. I know this isn't going to help much, but that's what I think.

Well, then it depends on what part of the CDH stack you are connecting to the Oracle database and how. Once you know that, you can start by taking a look at the release notes for the appropriate connector, and checking if the version of CDH is still compatible with the driver or connector that will work with the the new Oracle DB version.

@AndyAjram I don't have any personal experience with that combination of software when preparing for a DBMS upgrade, but a page that you should have come across would be this one: CDH 5 and Cloudera Manager 5 Requirements and Supported Versions …scroll down to the section heading CDH and Cloudera Manager Supported Databases where you should be able to find mention of Oracle support across CDH 5 releases. Hope this helps.

Hi @gwsolutions A little over a year ago now, Cloudera changed the download policy and beginning with Cloudera Manager 6.3.3 and CDH 6.3.3, downloading the software from Cloudera's repositories requires a valid subscription. This means, as you seem to be aware, you would need to obtain a valid Cloudera Enterprise license file and/or a username and password obtained from Cloudera for access to the repositories. Please see that announcement here: Cloudera Enterprise 6.3.3 Released As far as upgrading goes, this passage seems the most pertinent to your question: Upgrades to Cloudera Manager 6.3.3 or CDH 6.3.3 and higher are not supported while running Cloudera Express. A valid Cloudera Enterprise or CDP license must be in place before upgrading to Cloudera Manager 6.3.3 or 7.x, or the upgrade will not be completed. This also applies to trial installations of Cloudera Enterprise and CDP Data Center. Emphasis is mine. I strongly urge you to read the entire announcement before making any assumptions about how to proceed. In particular, the subsection Important Note About Installation has links to detailed information on how to obtain a username and password for accessing archive.cloudera.com
