@Jay SenSharma, @Shalini Goel - does this change have any impact on functioning of Atlas in the cluster ? As per HDP doc, we need to have the following: hive.exec.post.hooks=org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.hooks.ATSHook, org.apache.atlas.hive.hook.HiveHook

It is weird but a restart indeed solved the issue. Wondering what the root cause could be. If you have any luck arriving at the root cause, please share here in future. 🙂

As it turns out, the command to find out FQDN is hostname --fqdn Even though I ignored all the warning and proceeded to next steps to add the node to the cluster, in the end it all worked well and post intall test was successful. So I guess this can be ignored for practice exam.

You can opt for Python, Scala or Java. Lately industry is moving towards Scala and Python. If you prior experience with python better go with python. If curious to learn Scala, thats good too. Data scientits often prefer to use Scala.

@Dinesh Chitlangia If you are using Ambari server then you can use below script to download the configs from different clusters and than compare it using any comparision tools https://github.com/laurentedel/hadoop-scripts/blob/master/backup_configs.sh

Thank you for your guidance. We found the issue to be with the timeout defined for tHiveClose. Since the job had multiple parallelize joblets, it result in this issue. Appreciate your effort to help me.
