We upgraded from 7.1.6 to 7.1.7 GA and had similar issue and now we are trying to upgrade to hotfix and facing same issue and a bit unclear what fixed the first issue ! We copied the following files to /opt/cloudera/parcel-repo 8549720983 Jan 29 00:10 CDH-7.1.7-1.cdh7.1.7.p74.21057765-el7.parcel 40 Jan 30 00:44 CDH-7.1.7-1.cdh7.1.7.p74.21057765-el7.parcel.sha1 64 Jan 30 00:44 CDH-7.1.7-1.cdh7.1.7.p74.21057765-el7.parcel.sha256 When we check parcels in CM we see the following Error CDH 7 7.1.7-1.cdh7.1.7.p74.21057765 Unavailable Error for parcel CDH-7.1.7-1.cdh7.1.7.p74.21057765-el7.parcel : No valid hash file found. We tried copying the SHA files again ...compared bits with another download and still same error . Anything we are missing ? Is there supposed to be a "torrent" file ? Couldnt see it in archive .

We are planning a production cluster and right now I already have the Mysql being replicated but only have one Cloudera Manager . However we need to patch etc and sometimes have to take downtime of the CM . Is there a way to add a 2nd cloudera manager to the same database ?

Hello experts, I opened a support case and got a run around with many links to all kinds of generic documentation . We have 7.1.6 with Cloudera Manager 7.3.1 and we need to upgrade to 7.1.7 and Cloudera manager 7.4.xto latest and we are all beginners in Cloudera and Hadoop . So looking for some better documentation than https://docs.cloudera.com/cdp-private-cloud-upgrade/latest/upgrade-cdh/topics/cdpdc-pre-upgrade.html I am thinking from a high level steps a) Get RPM/bits from archive.cloudera.com b)Shutdown agents and CM c)Take backup per https://docs.cloudera.com/cdp-private-cloud-upgrade/latest/upgrade-cdh/topics/ug_cm_upgrade_backup.html d) Upgrade Agents c) Upgrade Cloudera Manager Then how do you exactly upgrade CDP from 7.1.6 to 7.1.7 runtime ? I couldnt really find step by step document with screenshot etc . I found this https://docs.cloudera.com/cdp-private-cloud-upgrade/latest/upgrade-cdh/topics/ug_cdh_upgrading_top.html but doesnt really tell you how to upgrade CDP runtime or maybe I am missing something in this loopy document 🙂 Then how do I install other components ? Any technote ? Whitepaper ?

My apologies for not responding faster but that did not help . It still fails when you run the installer after a couple of steps with JDK issues . more 2.install-openjdk8.log Loaded plugins: amazon-id, search-disabled-repos https://archive.cloudera.com/cm7/7.3.1/redhat7/yum/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] Error 404 - The requested URL returned error: 404 Not Found Trying other mirror. To address this issue please refer to the below knowledge base article https://access.redhat.com/articles/1320623 If above article doesn't help to resolve this issue please open a ticket with Red Hat Support. One of the configured repositories failed (Cloudera Manager), and yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue. At this point the only safe thing yum can do is fail. There are a few ways to work "fix" this: 1. Contact the upstream for the repository and get them to fix the problem. 2. Reconfigure the baseurl/etc. for the repository, to point to a working upstream. This is most often useful if you are using a newer distribution release than is supported by the repository (and the packages for the previous distribution release still work). 3. Run the command with the repository temporarily disabled yum --disablerepo=cloudera-manager ... 4. Disable the repository permanently, so yum won't use it by default. Yum will then just ignore the repository until you permanently enable it again or use --enablerepo for temporary usage: yum-config-manager --disable cloudera-manager or subscription-manager repos --disable=cloudera-manager

I am trying to install Cloudera in AWS for test purposes and the first obstacle I ran into was when I tried to run the cloudera-manager-installer.bin which I downloaded from https://archive.cloudera.com/p/cm7/7.3.1/cloudera-manager-installer.bin. The problem is that when you run this it fails with " https://archive.cloudera.com/cm7/7.3.1/redhat7/yum/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] Error 404 - The requested URL returned error: 404 Not Found" and this seems like a bug because the file is there but in a diff location ie https://archive.cloudera.com/p/cm7/7.3.1/redhat7/yum/repodata/repomd.xml (please note the "p" in working link . How do we fix this ? Looks like installer is looking in wrong location ?

I have successfully deployed one node quickstart on AWS but are there any docs for a decent sized 3-5 node cluster on AWS to learn cloudera ? I am new to Cloudera and wanted to know what gets installed first etc ..If you have a doc or steps to install Cloudera ...say 3 or 5 node cluster in AWS it would be ideal ... thanks Sam
