I don't think there's a way to detect it right now. You can only see what user you're configured to run as (which will be the single user when in single-user-mode). May I ask why you'd like to detect this?

When using Single User Mode, all processes are always launched as that single user, and the process user and group settings are ignored.

Hi Mike, In Cloudera Manager 5.7 there is a new feature called Cluster Templates. It's not expressly designed for diffing, but by the nature of how it works, it will tend to normalize a lot of variance and likely be reasonable for doing a textual diff between two fairly similar clusters. Export a template from both clusters and diff them. You can read about it here: https://www.cloudera.com/documentation/enterprise/latest/topics/install_cluster_template.html Thanks, Darren

Hi, Thanks for the offer to help! Hue uses the psycopg2 to talk to postgresql, which we have since found a way to make easy to install without violating the license. We'll likely have more seamless integration in an upcoming release. Thanks, Darren

Hi, This usually happens when there's a problem with DNS while starting the cloudera manager database for the first time, often caused by a VPN. To fix it, look at the files in /etc/cloudera-scm-server/db.mgmt.properties and find all the places where you see :7432. You'll notice that there's no host name before the colon. Put the fully qualified domain name (NOT localhost) before the colon in each place where that occurs. Then restart CM server: service cloudera-scm-server restart Thanks, Darren

Hi, Cloudera Manager 5.6 doesn't understand CDH 5.7. You need to upgrade to Cloudera Manager 5.7, then you can upgrade CDH to CDH 5.7. This is required regardless of license. -Darren

No, Cloudera Manager upgrades do not upgrade CDH at the same time. You can choose to upgrade CDH at a later time, or not to upgrade CDH at all, so long as the new version of Cloudera Manager supports that version of CDH (in your case, it does). Please be sure to follow the upgrade instructions when doing the upgrade, as there's some special considerations for a major upgrade. http://www.cloudera.com/content/www/en-us/documentation/enterprise/latest/topics/cm_ag_upgrading_cm.html I also highly recommend using the latest version of Cloudera Manager, which can support all versions of CDH4 and CDH5. Many bug fixes, new features, and improvements have come along in the one and a half years since 5.0.1 was released, including an improved CDH upgrade experience for when you choose to do that.

Hi, You can find the username, host, port, and password to the CM database in /etc/cloudera-scm-server/db.properties. Use this to connect to the database, then find your password in the CONFIGS with an ATTR of "keystore_password". You should be able to change your keystore password to this value. Thanks, Darren

You just need to go to the kerberos page and generate the missing keytab. Administration -> Security, click the tab for Kerberos Credentials, click Generate Missing Credentials. Thanks, Darren
