Greetings All, As of Monday, March 23 the following Cloudera certification exams will be available to schedule/attempt: CCA Administrator CCA HDP Administrator CCA Spark and Hadoop Developer CCA Data Analyst We've added a free video to help individuals acquaint themselves with the new exam environment. Additional information on what to expect in the exams is located on the individual test landing pages (provided above). This leaves CCP Data Engineer as the last of the legacy exams we need to release. We believe this will be released in the very near future. We understand the delay in relaunching our certification program may have impacted those who have been preparing for the exam. We regret the inconvenience caused. For those in possession of a certification voucher prior to October 18, 2019, we have extended the vouchers’s expiration date by six months. Candidates who attempt the exam and would like to purchase another voucher may use the code ‘SecondShot’ to benefit from a 50% discount. We appreciate your patience and continued support of Cloudera certification and training programs. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact email@example.com. Respectfully, Mark Morrissey Senior Director, Cloudera Educational Services

Cloudera Community Members,
In October last year, I informed you about our temporary suspension for the delivery of Cloudera certification exams. This would allow us to re-platform the system used to conduct the tests. Our plan was to recommence exams from February 1, 2020.
Unfortunately, we are unable to keep this promise to you. As of writing, we do not yet have a new go-live date but please be assured that we are urgently working towards a new launch date. As soon as we have more information, we will inform you; our Certification FAQ will also be kept up to date.
We understand this delay impacts individuals who have been preparing for the exam and sincerely regret any further inconvenience this causes.
We appreciate your continued support of Cloudera certification and training programs.

Greetings All, There is a lot of information in this message. Please note we’ve updated our Certification FAQ to address the topics covered within this note. Since Cloudera and Hortonworks merged earlier this year we have been working to define a new set of tools for training and certification based on our long-term goal of delivering a best-in-class experience for our customers reflective of the new Cloudera. As we transition to a new platform for delivery of our certification exams Cloudera has suspended the delivery of the following exams from October 18th, 2019 through February 1, 2020 : CCA Administrator CCA Spark and Hadoop Developer CCA Data Analyst CCP Data Engineer For customers and partners in possession of CCA or CCP exam vouchers, leading up to February 1, 2019 the following will apply: Customers can access all Cloudera training classes; only Cloudera’s CCA and CCP certification exams are being suspended. For exam vouchers already purchased that do not expire by October 18, 2019, Cloudera will extend the eligibility period by four months. Exams may be scheduled for anytime on or after February 1, 2020. We are also announcing the following Hortonwork Data Platform (HDP) exams will be retired and no longer offered as of December 6, 2019. Until this date, there will be no interruption in the scheduling or delivery of HDP exams. HDP Certified Developer (HDPCD) HDP Certified Spark Developer (HDPCSD) HDPCD and HDPCSD will be consolidated into the CCA exams focused on measuring competence with similar technologies. Customers and partners who have purchased a certification voucher with the intention of attempting either of Hortonworks’ developer exams have the following options: Take the exam prior to December 6, 2019. Convert the exam voucher to a CCA Spark Developer or CCA Data Analyst exam voucher. The expiration date for the converted voucher will be extended two months, and e xams may be scheduled for anytime on or after February 1, 2020 . To do so, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org . Delivery of the HDP Certified Administrator (HDPCA) exam will be suspended from December 6, 2019 through February 1, 2020 when it will be relaunched along with the CCA and CCP exams. Customers and partners who’ve purchased a certification voucher with the intention of attempting the Hortonworks Administrator exam have the following options: Take the exam prior to December 6, 2019. Delay attempt of HDPCA exam until February 1, 2020 or later. (We will extend the voucher eligibility period by two months to accommodate those unable to attempt the exam prior to December 6, 2019.) To ensure candidates are able to schedule their HDP exams by December 6, 2019, the final date to purchase HDP exam vouchers from Cloudera’s website was October 18, 2019 . We understand these decisions impact individuals who have been preparing for the exam, and regret any inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your continued support of Cloudera certification and training programs. Respectfully, Mark Morrissey Senior Director, Cloudera Educational Services

Greetings All - Thank you for your patience, your interest in Cloudera, and the time you've spent preparing to attempt the certification exams. We understand this is time which could be focused on other endeavors. Cloudera acknowledges the frustrations and challenges individuals have faced over the last few months in scheduling and taking certification exams. As the lead for our training endeavors, I'm personally sorry for inconvenience our certification has caused the community, our customers, and our partners. Over the past few weeks, we believe to have identified and fixed the critical problems with our infrastructure. This claim is based on the successful launch and grading of over 100 certifications in the past week. We are confident this level of reliability will continue. If you were impacted by a canceled exam, or showed up for an exam that didn't launch, the certification team will be contacting you directly. We are resetting eligibility, and you should be able to schedule at your convenience. Please contact email@example.com with any questions regarding rescheduling. Our long-term goal remains providing the consistent level of service and reliability that our customers and partners require when investing in the program. As such, we are porting our exams to a new infrastructure to alleviate the potential for these types of issues. We expect this project to be completed later this year. This change will improve reliability and scalabilty; ensuring we deliver the best-in-class certification experience we envision for our customers and partners. Thank you again for your continued support of Cloudera, and your interest in our training and certification services. Best Regards, Mark Morrissey Senior Director, Cloudera Training & Certification

(Disclosure: I'm Cloudera's Director for Educational Programs, and manage the relationship with Exit Certified... so please feel free to solicit more input from others who've taken Exit MVP courses)
Exit Certified uses the identical materials/content/labs/exercises as Cloudera when delivering training classes. Their instructors go through the same certification/authorization process as a Cloudera direct instructor, and to date we've been very pleased with the post class evaluation scores from Exit. The MVP and iMVP modalities of delivery are somewhat unique for virtual classes, as each student is able to interact with the instructor through the use of two way cameras.
Years ago there seemed to be a stigma about attending a class virtually, and t here are individuals who don't feel that you can't come close to replicating the "in-class" experience virtually. It's an individual's preference, and they may weight the in-person collaboration with instructor and fellow students as paramount to the success of the class.
But, with the vastly enhanced technology utilized for virtual delivery today, it has became a very popular and viable option. Most IT vendors offer a robust schedule of virtual options to appease customers.
Exit has invested resources and time to ensure their offering is a best-of-breed solution for virtual trainng. That being the case, I can confidently recommend an MVP or iMVP course - the content, instructor quality, and learning objectives are identical to taking a class through Cloudera, and the delivery modality is top quality for virtual learning.
