Thanks to @Vipin Rathor, I was able to setup HAProxy for Kerberos-ed WebHDFS. After that needed some changes for Ambari, so wrote: https://community.hortonworks.com/articles/91685/how-to-setup-haproxy-for-webhdfs-ha.html (日本語)

Thanks for this article. Everything works fine, except that my thrift server fails to behave properly after hbase user kerberos ticket expiration (10h in my case). Is there a way to automatically refresh/renew ticket so that my thrift server runs endlessly ? Thanks

Hi @Kuldeep Kulkarni Thanks for this article. I had customer which had issue because if Maintenance mode is ON, Ambari *silently* fails to change the config. So could you update this article to make sure the Maintenance Mode is OFF, please?

@Hajime Basically, Ambari Infra is only a wrapper, a service like HDFS or YARN, which deploys/manages different components. At the moment, the only component is Solr, which is open source. As Constantin pointed out, the Ambari Infra Stack can be found here: https://github.com/apache/ambari/tree/2ad42074f1633c5c6f56cf979bdaa49440457566/ambari-server/src/main/resources/common-services/AMBARI_INFRA/0.1.0

Referring to the PUT command used for triggering the alert manually, Is it possible to pass some parameters/custom information to the script which gets trigged by the alert ? If yes, is it via headers OR body of the PUT request ? Thanks.

If you shutdown the OS all tasks running on that node will be stopped too so you don't need to worry about recovery. You might kill the running application masters on that node though. There is no graceful shutdown of a nodemanager that waits for running applications to finish as of yet ( AFAIK if someone knows better let me know ). Yarn depends on applications to handle task or AM failures gracefully. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-914
